As you can see, the list is not complete. So ladies, bring on the suggestions! Some other suggestions have included financial goals or being more social and dating more. However, I need to find measurable ways to phrase them.
Now on to the challenge! Join me by creating your own list either for your birthday or the New Year. I'm looking forward to reading your lists and suggestions. I'm also hoping you all will hold me accountable.

I absolutely refuse to make a list like this. I know what you're thinking "you goal-less comfortable black woman," but no ma'am, it's not that. It's the high high standards I've set for myself. If I write it down I'm going to do it and if I don't (for whatever reason) I beat myself up like I'm Judas.
No ma'am, I won't be making a list like this, but I'll suggest more for yours.
- Attend one social event per month (which will help with the dating thing)
- Take advantage of free days at the Museums. (The Museum of Contemporary Art is free every Tuesday night courtesy of our good buddies at Target)
- Read for fun
- Congratulate yourself after you achieve each goal
24. learn how to pole dance/lap dance
NOW, dont think i mean professionally, or that any one in particular should even know you have that skill! but there is something about knowing you could if you wanted to that is empowering...
then when the deserving Mr. whomever comes along scategories can be your 2nd option!!! =) just a suggestion....
LOL @ Maven. What's funny is that Kis said "go to a strip club" and my bff, book club girls, and I have been talking about taking a class or a series of classes. It's actually been the topic of the last couple of conversations that I've had. So the debate is not whether to do it but whether I should add it to THIS list.
@ T. I feel you for not doing this list. While I plan to do everything on this list, I won't beat myself up about it (unless it's graduation or something like that). I know if I don't write them down, I'll forget and be back in the same place this time next year. Thanks for the suggestions. This list could get pretty expensive considering that I don't have a salary right now. So free is the way to go for the museums and social events. I already read especially for fun for my book club. Even if I hate the book, I look forward to our conversations over wine. Always a good time.
Be on the lookout for a BBG Book List and possible virtual book club.
Oooh, I'd LOVE a virtual book club. I will definitely stay tuned.
i.just.can't....right now.
i will make my list after the b-day, that way maybe i will have some sense of calm in my life.
@ crisis- it is a wonderful idea. however, unlike you, i would totally beat myself up if i didn't check things off my list. i am soo that person who makes a list JUST to cross items off. if i can't (or think i can't...i won't)...which is why i have NEVER made a new year's resolution.
such a good list! and so many good things!
i think a good thing to put on the list is i will take one day a month and do things just for me... whether that is a spa day or painting your nails and watching tv all day...
or you can do it one day a week...
or even an hour a day...
boogie- yes you make too many lists... please make a list to tell yourself to stop making lists.. :)
lily- stop being a hater.
p.s., i made 2 lists today! nah, sucka!
