Not too long ago, Diva Feminist and I were discussing what her theme song would be if her life was a reality TV show. Which got me thinking--what would mine be?
I wasn't sure about this song until I heard the last line:
Just enjoy the show (I want my money back! I want my money back! I want my money back!)/Just enjoy the show
Pretty much sums it up right there.
If your life was a reality TV show, what would your theme song be?

need a minute to marinate.
but, good food for thought...
I have a few. Love India. I play these songs before interviews or any particularly stressful situations. I fell in love with the Gnarls Barkley CD this summer but there are so many Cee-lo tracks that describe how I feel on any given day. Can't pick just one...
I Choose - India Arie
I done been through some painful things I thought that I would never make it through.
Filled up with shame from the top of my head to the soles of my shoes.
I put myself in so many chaotic circumstances, but by the grace of God I've been given so many second chances.
But today I decided to let it all go. I'm dropping these bags, I'm making room for my joy....
Because you never know where life is gonna take you and you can't change where you've been.
But today, I have the opportunity to choose.
I also love the line "I even had a talk with my mama and I told her today I'm grown. From this day forward, every decision that I make will be my own."
Just for Today - India Arie
Just for today
I will not worry what tomorrow will bring,
I’m gonna try something new and walk through this day
Like I’ve got nothing to prove,
Although I have the best intentions
I can't predict anyones reactions
So I’ll just do my best
I'll put one foot in front of the other
Keep on moving forward
And let God do the rest
I don’t know what’s gonna happen
That’s alright with me
I open up my arms and I embrace the mystery.
A Little Better - Gnarls Barkley
Ohhh it's probably plain to see
That I got a whole lot of pain in me
And it will always remain in me
So cold, it's a cryin shame
Yet here I am, tryin again
Cause I refuse to die in vain
The circumstances put soul in me
And there ain't no holdin me
I've got a heart made of gold in me
Hah, can you believe this is where I've been?
And when adversity comes again
I'll deal with it then
I feel better!
I can laugh at it now, I feel better
Ohhhh, better!
And even a little is still better
Oh, have mercy on me
tracy chapman, "all you have is your soul"
